I definitely follow tip #3, the "slow foods" tradition! I think that restaurants today serve HUGE portions, and that's NOT a good thing!

Even that 1/4 of a hamburger you didn't finish at lunch is a lot of food that had to be raised (lots of work for farmers), packaged (electricity, pollution from a packaging plant), shipped (oil for the truck/boat to carry it across the country) and stored (electricity for the refrigerator).

So, I try to eat locally grown foods that haven't been shipped far, and I only order what I'm going to eat so I'm not wasting all that energy (oil, electric, and man-power) that went into making that food.

We can all do our part...

xoxo,
martina

I'm a little disapointed that eating less meat wasn't on there! The production/consumption of meat is the number one cause of global warming, according to the UN! The amount of food and water a single animal eats over its lifetime to be on somebody's plate once alone I think is enough to make somebody thing about not eating meat. Then there's the many times that the animals have to be transported and the amount of energy it takes to slaughter and process the meat. Simply put, eating meat isn't good for the environment, at all!

I think they are good but they should included more. Do people really shave daily? other than guys faces? I don't have anything to shave for 3/4 days. I also don't smoke. I go to the beach to reflect. We recycle as much as we can but the packing of products these days are completely ridiculous.
